Friday Favorites

 They're baaaaaack!

Ginger Syrup from Morris Kitchen, Brooklyn, New York - Nicki recently introduced me to this stuff and it is sooooo good! From cocktails to a late-night tummy soother, this syrup will quickly become your new favorite ingredient. More about the duo behind Morris Kitchen here.

:::

Quince Paste by June Taylor featured at Food52 - I am currently obsessed with all things quince and June Taylor is my hero. Not only does she create fantastic fruit pastes, she also incorportates them into cheese! Quince + Cheese = Heaven!

:::

Rolling Pin Oatmeal April from Ice Milk Aprons - I'm having a love affair with Ice Milk Apron's concept, design and most especially, their aprons. Love, love, love! And they're southern. More about the company here.

:::

 }Moro East{ by Sam and Sam Clark - Spain and Muslim Mediterranean cookbook from the chef/owners of UK-based Moro restaurant. I need this book!

:::

Helping Haiti - I sat up until 3:30 this morning looking at pictures and reading articles on the devastation and destruction in Haiti. In my worst nightmares I could never imagine such horror. The outpouring of support from the online community has been nothing short of tremendous. Below are a few ways that YOU can do something to help in the relief efforts.

Uber-stylish AphroChic is doing a FABULOUS auction on her blog to benefit Haiti. Check it out!

One of my blogger heros, The Pioneer Woman is putting her money where your comments are. For every comment she gets here, she's donating 10 cents to helping Haiti. Leave her a message!

Share Our Strength has a comprehensive list of ways to help here.

Using your cell phone, text HAITI to 90999 to donate a fast and easy $10 to Red Cross efforts.

Wishing you a warm and relaxing holiday weekend. Pray for Haiti.

Ginger syrup is amazing! I'll be posting a recipe for the signature drink that we served at our wedding cocktail hour that included ginger syrup.

Thanks so much for reading!
